Olivia underwater with Siemens Aquaris waterproof hearing aids.wmv

Olivia is one of the first children in Australia to receive Siemens Aquaris Hearing Aids from Australian Hearing. She loves having fun in the pool and spa, but has been unable to hear near water. It’s not a good idea to wear regular hearing aids near water. Just a few drops of water or grains of sand can ruin the expensive little things. Not being able to hear in water is not just an inconvenience, it can also lead to safety issues. She would love to go to our local beach and the pool at school, but Olivia’s fun, communication and safety have always been limited by her inability to wear hearing aids in, or close to, water. Until now. As you can see in this video clip, a whole new world has just opened up for Olivia. Have fun, Olivia!

Thanks for your kind sentiments, Marceird. Olivia loves her new hearing aids. In Australia, 100 of these new waterproof hearing aids were tested in our tropical north, in the water and on the sand. They all survived brilliantly! Good on you, Holland, for making them.

Wow this is amazing Olivia! You had your cousin Leo jumping up and down with excitement & both your Grandma & I had tears in our eyes when watching this. We had to watch quite a few times because it’s so gorgeous. All our love from Bondi Beach – here’s to a summer where you can hear the waves. Alicia x

This is really fantastic…it’s the best thing in life to make a child as happy as this. Enjoy water, Olivia!

Besides, Siemens is not a dutch brand. It’s German.

Great video Olivia. It was linked to all Siemens hearing employees and the response has been fantastic. We are very happy and proud that you like the Aquaris so very much. Siemens is based in Germany but it’s a global company. The concept was worked on in England then designed and engineered in Germany and Singapore. They had to undergo lots of tests and we threw everything at them, there were very many problems along the way but seeing this has led many to comment how it was all worth it.Cheers

Olivia and the rest of our family wish to thank Siemens and all the brilliant people around the world who worked on these wonderful waterproof hearing aids. She can now participate in school water sports. And she won’t feel left out anymore at pool parties. Thanks to everyone at Australian Hearing, and especially Olivia’s audiologist Alison, for making it all happen.

I must congratulate Siemens embarking on creating a technology in underwater hearing aid which might have micro-accessibility in, HOWEVER, they have succeeded making this lovely girl Olivia HEAR the water, Hear around the water, Hear in the water. JUST HEAR when wet. Olivia brought tears to my eyes see her and joy to heart. I would also congratulate Olivia’s Mum and dad and her sisiter for supporting her. Olivia! you are a lucky duck! Hah, I wish we had these when I was kid. A few years after I had my first set of hearing aids, we were on summer holiday and the heat was getting to me. So I jumped in the pool – and to my parents horror, I had completely forgotten I was wearing my hearing aids! Fortunately a few hours in the sun was enough to dry them out, and they worked just fine afterwards.

Olivia jumped into her new pool a few years ago with her regular hearing aids on, and we thought they were ruined. Luckily a few hours of intensive drying and they worked OK. Without the aids, Olivia’s communication is limited to lip-reading and writing.

Try the Siemens website for Aquaris hearing aids providers. We bought them from Australian Hearing.

Hi,it’s so exciting too see her joy! Cute! Greetings from Hungary. My daughter also has Aquaris . However, she couldn’t try them in the pool yet, because her ear molds do not fit perfectly. She likes water and we were looking for waterproof hearing aids for several years, so we were soooooo happy when we found them.We also thank to Siemens! Has Olivia got the 501 or the 701? Can you tell me something about her ear mold?
